The cold war

 

The Cold War was a period of tension between the United States, Great Britain and the USSR vs Japan and Germany. The Western Bloc and the Eastern Bloc, which began following World War II. It was waged mainly on political, economic, and propaganda fronts and lasted until 1991. It was called the Cold War because neither the Western Bloc or the Eastern Bloc officially declared war on the other. The cold war was a scary time for the citizens in each party because the governments were both threatening each other with nuclear weaponry which was the first time it had been thrown around so easily and if something was too happen it could be very dangerous. 

The alliance of the USA and the USSR both had different ideas of how life should be though. Politically Britain and USA both believed in Capitalism an idea that you should have to work for your hierarchy but the USSR believed in Communism an idea that everyone is equal even if some people put more work in than others everything is equal. Communism means that there is a one party state rather than an election for who runs the country every so often. Despite the fact that the USSR had been on Germanys side throughout the war that changed when Germany started to attack USSR as they wanted more land.
